Have The Courage To Erase Your Fear – Go After What You Want!

I heard this quote on Grey’s Anatomy the other day. At the end of the episode Meredith said “Are you living the life you pictured for yourself? Or are you still dreaming of something bigger?”

Many people are not living the life they pictured for themselves. Nor are they even trying to go after the life they want. Due to laziness, fear or judgement. Many individuals are content with their mediocre life. Doing the same thing, day in and day out. Living the same life, day in and day out.

Avoiding the determination to go after what they want, or shunning the courage to go after it. I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but getting what you want will not be handed to you. You have to work for the things you want out of life. And if it’s handed to you, is it even that rewarding then? Not to me. Too easy and not fulfilling.

Whether that be a new career, meeting new people, getting rid of some people that are not good for you. Or having the courage to get out of your comfort zone to try something new. You may be rejected, or you may fall down. You may screw up doing this several times, but it will make you a more improved, stronger person.

One of the authentic ways to learn and be successful, is going through challenging situations. Pick ourselves back up if we fall down. Learn from our own mistakes. We’ve all heard that before.

Do you realize how incredible it feels to fall down 99 times, get up 100 and achieve what you were aiming for? Especially if you gave all your effort that many times. Refusing to give up and see it actually come to fruition! Not everyone will be there with a reaching hand to pick you back up. Yet, if you are an independent person, then you won’t need that anyway.

It’s more helpful getting through it yourself than having always picking you up when you fall. That’s just my opinion though and from my own experiences. It’s more exciting to talk about afterwards. Or brag if you’re one of those. So put your plan together, and go after what you want and deserve!

Aloha and Welcome! I am Elizabeth Cunningham – the sole creator of Elizabeth Dabbles – www.elizabethdabbles.com. I graduated from the University of South Florida where I received my Bachelor of Art’s degree in Creative Writing. Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a little, young peanut.

I remember sitting by the window on rainy days writing poetry when I was in elementary school. Creativity has been running through my veins for as long as I can remember. I’ve dabbled in scrapbooking, creating greeting cards, poetry and now sharing my perspectives on life.

I mostly blog about my deep thoughts, opinions and other perspectives. Focusing on finding the silver lining in every situation. As well has having a positive outlook on life. Some of my posts can be inspiring to others. My other main interests are Traveling and Fitness/Health.

I truly live life to the fullest because, let’s face it, life is too short! I hope you stay along for the ride!

  1. Well I'm one of those down people-doing the same everyday-same routine but alot of activities spur of the moment too. I just don't have that actual "push" from my family. Its been 8 years now that I assumed I'd be gone and moved out. Well I got as far as TN and been going back and forth with my dad and mom. I act like I'm 24 but now currently that age where you don't go out and celebrate bdays anymore or go out late nights anymore. I just started to realize that and moving in a slow slow positive direction. What made you get going? Who helped you? Was it joining an activity or a gym?

    • A slow positive direction is surely better than nothing! And why don't you celebrate birthdays anymore? Being as young as 24, you have so much life to live and celebrate! No one helped me get going actually, although I will say I've met some pretty motivating people in my life over the past 5 months. I just woke up one day and realized I'm tired of not living the life I want to live. I refuse not go after what I want, so now I live it to the fullest every single day! Life is seriously too short for excuses and not finding your happiness on a daily basis. Stay around positive, motivating and supportive people in your life and it'll make it that much easier. Do you have any goals or plans?
