Oh, it’s the Holiday’s?

I couldn’t tell with the ice skating rinks in 80 degree weather, the lack of Christmas music again, and the fake beards falling off Santa Claus in the mall food court.

Another year where it feels a little off around the Holiday’s. Not everyone is in the spirit again. Perhaps we can chalk it up to the hot weather? Who knows. It’s times like these that I miss living in Charlotte, and having actual seasons.

As if last year wasn’t bad enough with only my Charlie Brown tree, this year I never got a tree at all. Not to say I didn’t want one. Life just got in the way and I kind of… forgot. The hot weather throws you off here in Florida. It just feels like Summer.

We are also approaching the infamous New Year. It’s that time of year where we put our resolutions in place for all the things we want to change. So we jump right into changing them, and then fall off the cliff after a month.

I do find it funny that all over the world, we suddenly have such motivation to make changes in our lives; all because a number changes! We try to “resolve” the things that aren’t “perfect” in our lives. Or the things we want to change. Yet, we lose that motivation so quick after we write them on paper. Why do you suppose that is?

I feel people jump in way too fast with their crazy ideas… or resolutions. Instead of starting slow, with baby steps. If you want to make a permanent change, then start small and gradually grow into it. This may vary depending on what you want out of your life.

Perhaps change your mindset that this is the only time of year you can make changes. That motivation can happen any time of the year if you want it to. Again, change your mindset! Find it within yourself to make these goals for your life. Stop waiting for something to happen or being lazy about it. This is your life and you only get one chance at it!

I hope everyone has safe and Happy Holidays! Make this the best New Year yet and stick to those resolutions!
